A network of highways that bisect
Mexico run through Torreón offering access to the cities of Durango, Saltillo,
Monterey, Zacatecas and Cd. Juarez. Modern 4-lane highway connecting
Torreón to Saltillo, Monterrey and Nuevo Laredo. Torreón's International Airport
is just minutes away from the city. It offers daily flights to Mexico City,
Cd. Juarez, Monterey, Dallas, San Antonio, Los Angeles and etc. The region has an ample water
supply coming from two Nazas river reservoirs and several wells. The Federal Customs Department
of Mexico operates a permanent facility in Torreón primarily used to clear
exports. Additional customs facilities are located at the border crossing
points of Cd. Acuna and Piedras Negras in Coahuila, Nuevo Laredo in Tamaulipas
and the modern Colombia bridge in Nuevo Leon. Railroad connections to El
Paso and Laredo, Texas; Monterrey, N.L. and Mexico City.
