Port Description
The Port of Altamira is the largest
port development complex in the country. Nowadays ranks first in petrochemical
fluid handling and is one of the top four in Mexico for the total cargo movement.
With a total surface of 7,598 acres (3.075 has) for its development, 3,961 acres
(1,603 has) are oriented for maritime terminals, 2,123 acres (859 has) for the
navigation channel and 1,515 acres (613 has) for seaboard.
During 2004, the total cargo movement increased to more than 8.5 million tons,
making us the forth port in the country.
